Hotel openings

New hotels are continuously emerging around the globe, catering to diverse traveller preferences. Here are some openings that I'm excited about.

The Eve Hotel Sydney Designed as a dream collaboration between SJB’s Adam Haddow, 360 Degrees’ Daniel Baffsky and Interior Architect George Levissianis, the hotel is at once a transporting oasis and a delightfully Sydney-centric celebration of place. Soft, organic curves and natural materials set the scene – with balconies offering views across the rooftops of Redfern and Surry Hills, and carefully restored plants bringing the natural environment into the city’s urban heartland. Art from Sydney artist Louise Olsen features throughout, with one spectacular piece taking over the entire ceiling of the hotel’s lobby bar, Bar Julius.

Aman Tokyo, Japan
With its opening slated for late 2025, Aman Tokyo will introduce a unique blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern luxury. Located in a sleek skyscraper, this hotel will feature luxurious accommodations, an extensive wellness program, and unparalleled views of the city from its serene gardens and indoor pool.

Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como, Italy
Set to debut in mid-2025, the Mandarin Oriental at Lake Como will blend luxurious modern amenities with the historic charm of the region. The hotel will feature lavish suites, an exquisite spa, and gastronomic experiences that highlight local Italian cuisine amidst breathtaking views of the lake and mountains.

The Edition Doha, Qatar
Scheduled to open in early 2025, The Edition Doha will blend contemporary design with Qatari culture. This waterfront property will feature stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, multiple dining options including a world-class restaurant, and a lavish spa, making it a prime destination for luxury traveller’s.

AndBeyond AndBeyond is expanding in East Africa with a new lodge in Kenya opening in July 2026. The company has secured a long-term lease for an Exclusive Tourism Concession over Suyian Conservancy, partnering with Space for Giants. This agreement provides access to over 44,000 acres of wilderness in north-western Laikipia. AndBeyond Suyian Lodge will offer 14 suites, including a family suite and a triple suite, each with a private pool and both indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can explore the conservancy through various safari options and engage in local tribe interactions and conservation activities.

The Corinthia Maldives Corinthia Maldives offers an exquisite blend of luxury and natural beauty, set against the stunning backdrop of pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. Featuring elegantly designed villas and suites that emphasise comfort and sophistication, guests can indulge in an unparalleled level of service. The resort boasts various dining options, each showcasing a unique culinary experience, while wellness facilities provide opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Christmas

Christmas markets in Europe form the perfect setting to get into the holiday spirit, with the sweet aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon spice and the echo of Christmas jingles in the air, and market stalls full of festive fare.

Home to the some of the world’s most beautiful cities, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the preamble to the festive season in Europe. As the nights draw in, we highlight the best European Christmas markets to explore this year.

Here are my favourite Christmas markets in Europe

Manchester Christmas Markets, Manchester, UK

It started with a cluster of wooden stalls but now, 18 years later, Manchester’s Christmas market has snowballed into an award-winning festive fantasia attracting seven million visitors yearly. Follow the 300 chalet-lined market trail across the city centre for all kinds of bespoke gifts, from fine jewellery to bonsai trees, while stopping for cocktails at the new pop-up-style Christmas Vintage Lounge on Exchange Square. The real highlight is the street food on Albert Square.

Prague Christmas Markets, Prague, Czech Republic

Prague's distinctively medieval backdrop of church domes, towers and magnificent ninth-century castle, provides the ultimate festive skyline. Stroll through cobbled streets, past hidden courtyards and over pretty bridges to Staromestské Námestie (the Old Town Square), or Wenceslas Square, for the largest –and most magical– markets. They are filled with atmospheric choirs, giant Christmas trees and fairy light-festooned stalls selling locally made gifts including luxe ceramics and scented candles.

Tivoli Christmas Market, Copenhagen, Denmark

When you've got the chief designer from Tiffany & Co. planning the design concept, you can bank on an exquisite spectacle. In 1997, John Loring set the cobbled streets sparkling and transformed the city’s famous Tivoli Gardens into a twinkling winter wonderland with more than 500,000 fairy lights. Now, this Scandi-chic market, along with welcoming scents of gløgg (mulled wine), exhilarating rides and brightly coloured stalls, selling the type of sweaters made famous by Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing, attracts more than a million visitors a year.

Christkindlmarkt, Vienna, Austria

With a market practically on every corner, where better to don your finest faux-fur than Vienna? Schoenbrunn Palace Christmas Market is best for stylish shopping, while the largest and gaudiest – Christkindlmarkt (christmas market) – dates back to 1294 and is bursting with atmosphere. Set in the Rathausplatz in front of the neo-Gothic City Hall, locals come to check out the festive window scenes painted by local artists, and stay for the glühwein (mulled wine). Take a stroll through Rathauspark for old-fashion carousel rides and a ‘Post Office in the Clouds’, where you can post your Christmas cards. Remember those?

Mulhouse Christmas Market, Alsace, France

The Christmas market takes place on the most important square of the city - Place de la Réunion. Known as being one of the most colourful Christmas markets in the world, the site is the perfect opportunity for the town to celebrate it's textile heritage with Christmas fabric created each year hung on the facades of around 100 typical festive huts.

Christkindlesmarkt, Nuremberg, Germany

The Germans know a thing or two about Christmas markets. Over 2,500 are dotted around the country but Nuremberg’s 400-year-old Christkindlmarkt is arguably the most famous. Shining in the Bavarian city's old town, this festive gem has it all: twinkling lights, super-strong glühwein and delicious Bratwurst. Each of the 180 stalls sell genuine tat-free treasures, from handmade candles to enameled music boxes, and special wardens ensure all products are locally made. It all adds to the authentic flavour and the buzzing Bierkeller next to the ice-rink is a guaranteed Christmas spirit booster.

Edinburgh Christmas Markets, Edinburgh, UK

Bringing traditional German flavour to the Scottish capital, stallholders at The European Market are from Frankfurt, while The Scottish Market serves up local delights. Treat your pooch to canine cookies from The Grassmarket on Saturdays, lose yourself in the fir tree maze and ride the Edinburgh wheel for fantastic city views. Once Christmas is wrapped up, it all kicks off again for Hogmanay: a legendary New Year’s party where 80,000 revelers come for music, fireworks and lashings of whisky.

Holiday in Thailand

From the temples and street food to the pristine beaches and luxury hotels, you’ve got every excuse for a holiday to Thailand.

The land of smiles

Thailand is known as the land of smiles, thanks to the welcoming nature of the Thai people. But there’s so much more to the country than friendly faces. In fact, it’s impossible to sum up Thailand in a nutshell, because every part is different.

Bangkok

Mixed in with the religious landmarks is one of the world’s most hectic capitals. Bangkok is a strobe-like city, where motorways have 12 lanes, markets have upward of 15,000 stalls, and restaurants are so concentrated, you’ll never be more than 50 metres away from one.

Beaches and islands

Then there’s the coast. In the Krabi province alone, there are 150 kilometres’ worth of beaches, many of which are backed by photogenic rock formations. In the Khao Lak area, the sands get swallowed up by national parks a few hundred metres from the shoreline. In Phuket, meanwhile, there’s a real mix. While the crowdless beaches in Mai Khao let you live incognito for a while, the ones in Patong invite you to a permanent party.

Multi-Centre holidays to Thailand

Settling on just one spot is no easy feat in this kaleidoscopic country. That’s why we’ve hand picked a selection of choices, which let you tick off two or more places in one trip. They pair up Bangkok with beach resorts, like Phuket and Khao Lak. Our Multi-Centre tours, meanwhile, cover off even more, from traditional Chiang Mai in the north to the picturesque Phi Phi Islands in the south.

The Maldives are the most beautiful small islands in the World.

Made up of 26 coral atolls in a chain reaching down to cross the equator. 4 days in London - things to do - itinerary

London is one of the world’s most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities, yet it remains a place of pageantry and tradition. Get a taste of that tradition as you are escorted through the city by a member of our team. You will get an overview tour of London's most iconic royal sites, hop aboard the London Eye for a bird's-eye view of the city and spend half a day visiting Windsor Castle.

DAY 1 : LONDON

You will be welcomed at Heathrow airport by a member of our team as you exit customs, and will transfer to your hotel, with assistance during check-in.

DAY 2 : LONDON

Our guide help you find your bearings with a half-day orientation tour of London. Drive past sites such as the Tower of LondonSt. Paul's Cathedral, Houses of ParliamentBuckingham Palace, the Tower BridgeWestminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square. Get a spectacular panorama of the city on the London Eye, the world's largest cantilevered observation wheel, located on the South Bank of the Thames River.

DAY 3 : WINDSOR DAY TRIP

Travel west out of London with your guide and private vehicle to visit Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. With a history spanning nearly 1,000 years, it was the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II and her preferred weekend home. Subject to opening restrictions, you may see the State Apartments, St. George's Chapel and Queen Mary's Dolls' House. The castle ramparts offer excellent views of Eton College.

DAY 4 : LONDON

Today is at your leisure, but here are things we would suggest you do:

Tate Modern

London’s art scene was revolutionised by the opening of Tate Modern in 2000, housed within the vast former Bankside Power Station. After a visit, I like to take the 15-minute trip along the Thames aboard the Tate Boat to Tate Britain, London’s principal collection of British art, which contains major works by Turner, Constable and Gainsborough, as well as those by contemporary masters such as Henry Moore and Francis Bacon.

Floris

One of our favorite London shops is Floris, a bespoke perfume store and an invaluable source of gifts for women. Sometimes I also indulge in the "No. 89" aftershave, the preferred fragrance of James Bond.

Daunt Books

London’s independent bookshops have found life difficult in the age of Amazon. Fortunately, many remain in business, though doubtless with their profit margins reduced.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden is in the West End, London’s main theatre and entertainment area. Tourists fill its elegant, car-free Piazza, home to fashion stores, crafts at the Apple Market and the Royal Opera House. Street entertainers perform by 17th-century St. Paul’s Church, and the London Transport Museum houses vintage vehicles.

DAY 5 : DEPART LONDON

Meet your driver and guide and transfer in the comfort of your private luxury vehicle to Heathrow airport, where you will be assisted with check-in.
